JUDGE CRITIQUE

THE MALTESE NATIONAL CANINE FEDERATION
DECEMBER 2007 CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW – JUDGE'S REPORT

It was a pleasure to come back once again to judge in Malta. It was a lovely venue with plenty of space to move the dogs. May I thank everyone for their kind hospitality and good sportsmanship. I would also like to thank my two ring stewards for doing an excellent job.

There was a large entry of Pugs and I thought the quality in this breed was very high. I also thought the quality was very high in the Rottweilers and Boxers, two popular breeds in Malta.

Overall I found many excellent dogs and also excellent handlers, but there were a few who had good dogs but unfortunately both owners and dogs needed training.
Best Puppy In show was the German Short Haired Pointer, Spagnol's Keigame Mr Haj Haj, most promising youngster with lovely head and strong well made body, moved really well. Best In Show went to the Alaskan Malamute, Vassallo's Landwood Winter magic Nebrask, quite outstanding with classy head, good shaped body and in excellent coat and condition, moved round the ring very sound with good reach. Reserve Best In Show was the Cocker Spaniel, F&M.Borg's Sh.Ch. Canyonn Classic Dream At Framod, has a lovely quality head, firm compact body, a very sound mover both ways.

Marion Spavin,

Judge
